My daughter, University of Southern Mississippi alum who has talked to friends in Hattiesburg, says that the biggest problems there are debris in the streets, no electricity or gas, and no phones. The Hattiesburg campus seems to have in fairly good shape. It is the campus on the Gulf Coast that was destroyed. Classes will begin on Sept 12 and students can move back into the dorms on Sept 10.
Without a statement to quote, I feel that the deGrummond collection is safe and that all staff is accounted for. I will post again if I find out anything else.
