[CCBC-Net] Book drive? OFF TOPIC

Has anyone in the Hurricane Katrina area begun a book drive for the kids who are likely to be in shelters for weeks? And ultimately for schools and libraries that will have to rebuild? If not, can something be done with the help of this ccbc group? We all have so many book-loving (and children-loving) friends; it should be easy enough to get the word out and come up with lots of books, but we'd need a central collection and distribution site, preferably near the affected area (which unfortunately I'm not), so necessary contacts could be made and books don't have to be shipped twice. An institutional sponsor would be ideal. Any ideas? Any volunteers?
