An editor friend of mine sent me a question I don't have the answer to. I thought perhaps someone in our group could lead me in the right direction. Here's her question:
"Do you know where I can find how many titles for children are available in Japan and in Malaysia? Where can I even find that statistic for the U.S.
(how many titles for children were published last year)?"
Later in the day the sent me another email saying she'd found the US statistics on a good article she'd found online, http://www.soemadison.wisc.edu/ccbc/books/choiceintro05.asp
I wrote her back and sent her the link to the ccbc site where she can subscribe to ccbc-net and sang the praises of this list. :-)
Please reply off list so as not to clutter the listserve if you have any info that could add to the US statistics the ccbc article has and shed some light on overseas stats. My email is: omgary at childrencomefirst.com
Thanks!
Olgy
