Shelby Wolf is having problems posting to the list and so I'm forwarding this message she wrote in reponse to Dotti Enderle's question about the opening chapter.

Dotti,
I actually thought the opening with the Prime Minister was a tickle. It gave Rowling a clever way of introducing the new Minister of Magic and it provided some insight into how beleaguered all three gentlemen
(both incoming and outgoing) are in the jobs. Shelby
But I got a bounce back message from the CCBC that said I wasn't registered with you. I am, though. At least I think I am.
Can you ask Chris to check on this for me. Thanks very much, Shelby
