Harry Potter Audience

What I think is so wonderful about the Harry Potter series is how it appeals to people at all age ranges. I have a nine year old son and ten year old boy-girl twins. All three of them and most of their friends love Harry Potter and counted down the days to the release of the Half Blood Prince. My father (who is 67), and all my siblings (in their 30's) also picked up copies on the 16th. I believe there are many other children's books that could step out of the children's section as well. Perhaps Harry Potter will open that door for other worthy books.

By the way, my nine-year-old is such a huge Harry Potter fan that he has his room decorated with HP posters, HP sheets on his bed, and HP Legos displayed on his bookcase (next to other wonderful fantasy and adventure books that he reads because of his original interest in HP). He dressed as Harry for Halloween three years in a row. He listens to the books on cd as he falls asleep over and over again. He tries to talk to snakes at the zoo. And he can't wait to turn 11 when he'll find out if he is, in fact, a real wizard!
