Sorry, but I am catching up on digests and wanted to comment. Probably on various items as I read.

I enjoyed the Prime Minister chapter. I thought it was a creative way to show the connection between the Muggle and Wizard worlds and to fill everyone in on the backstory without throwing in paragraphs of explanation here and there throughout the book.

And as for that chapter implying a wretched, far-away, Republican president, according to www.hp-lexicon.org, a wonderful Harry Potter website, these events would have happened in July of 1996, a time when said president would have most definitely not been Republican. So I guess everyone can laugh, depending on your perspective...

[Sorry for the inadvertent 'send' on the last email.] I too think Dumbledore is dead, but I wonder where his portraits will be placed and what knowledge a person takes with them into their portrait. Couldn't the new headmaster/headmistress consult freely with Dumbledore? Could Dumbledore continue being the headmaster - sort of - through the new person? Couldn't Harry visit the office and talk with him? Couldn't Harry commission his own portrait and hang it at the end of his four-poster?
