I am ever amazed at the misunderstanding of the right regarding the left - it never seems to occur to them that a liberal/left-ist person is also passionate about protecting children. My post is included on the PABBIS website, and has to have been grossly misread to be there. I speak of my disappointment at the lack of redeeming value of Rainbow Party based on its poor quality (which preluded it from being included in our YA collection.) I also express regret that an opportunity was lost for discussion and some
"subtle education" - which apparently was read as an education that would encourage teens to have Rainbow Parties of their own. Nothing could be farther from the truth - I think we missed a chance for teens to really THINK about oral sex and their potential motivations for participating in such - the truth shall set you free, and all that. ah, well - rant over. Back to work selecting books chosen on the basis of obscenity; it's inclusion, of course.
