Poets have always embraced science and the scientific method. For years educators asked me to do a collection of science poems. I did with SPECTACULAR SCIENCE featuring poems by many masters as Carl Sandburg, David McCord, Mary O'Neill and l2 others.
As a teacher I had always used poetry within the science curriculum. When teaching magnets, for example, Valerie Worth's "Magnet" is a must. Sandburg's
"Metamorphosis" inspired students to think and think greatly about water and ice.
Poetry works with every area of the curriculum. It should be introduced every day in EVERY subject.
