Judith, it could be that someone from PABBIS is on the CCBC-Net listserv, since it is a forum open to any interested adult. But she may also have simply read the archives from last month's discussion on the world wide web. We are in the process of switching CCBC-Net over to a new list program, which will allow the possibility of password protected archives.
In any case, this serves as a reminder to us all that anything we post online is not really anonymous and is potentially a public statement. That doesn't mean we shouldn't continue as we always have, it just means that we should keep in mind that whatever we post could be read by people other than those actively participating.
And by way of a brief update, I have an appointment on Thursday morning with an attorney in UW's Legal Affairs. I'll let you know what he advises after I meet with him. In the meantime, please resist the urge to engage PABBIS on the CCBC's behalf.
I can't help but wonder if what we're dealing with here is potentially a huge breach of trust: how would this group have known about our discussion last month unless someone on the list notified them?
