I remember discovering Lisa Westberg Peters' WATER'S WAY for the first time, and thinking, "Wow, this is it--this is how water works, in a nutshell!" It floored me to think that the best explanation of a natural process would be in a children's book--but to this day I have found that is true. When I want to do research, I turn to excellently written books like Lisa's, that explain the how and why of things without all of the technical verbiage. (Another wonderful book about water is A DROP OF WATER by Walter Wick.) They give the reader both a sense of wonder and of understanding.
