What with the PABBIS invasion of the CCBC listserve, this might be a good time to remind everybody that the PEN's Children and Young Adult Committee is always on the lookout for banned books. One of our mandates is to protect an author's first amendment rights. We are also concerned that librarians and teachers are able to exercise their literary choices without fear of outsiders with their own agendas. If you, your school, your library are dealing with censorship issues, we'd like to know about them. We'd like to help. Please feel free to email me at skuklin1 at nyc.rr.com or my co-chair, Fran Manushkin, at fmanushkin at nyc.rr.com.
