On the topic of "potty humor"... I fought hard to get the character in one of my books (a dog) to poop on one page. Why? Because I knew kids would find it funny. I was right. I think if pooping, farts, and the like are tastefully done, then they should be welcomed in children's literature! This is not to say that I always find this sort of thing appropriate. Oftentimes I think authors overdo it. There's a fine line to walk...
