Yet another PS:



I didn't get to this year's Reading Matters (saving my pennies for CLNE), but I did two years ago, and the thing that most impressed me about it was its political tone. Most of the authors had something to say, be it about current government policy such as Mike raised here, or about cultural sensitivities around Indigenous writing. I recall thinking how refreshing it was to have discussion at that level at a conference for children's and YA literature and I'm disappointed some people went this year with their brains disengaged!
