Two more quick thoughts:
First -- I /should/ have thanked you for the first part of your message before I went on to debate the second! And for your books from which I have learned much!
Second -- I don't want my children to face the same painful struggles I did. I believe that at this point, at least my firstborn should be already safer from shame than I was; she is old enough to have learned enough. And when I say that pride parades are for everyone, that is part of why. Who knows what my children will grow up to desire? I don't. But I want them to grow into those desires freely, without shame or fear.
