missing GLBT materials

I would be curious to hear where you would draw the line. Do you feel that, as a parent, you don't want the library to have books with GLBT characters at all, because that would violate your values? Or does there have to be some overt sexual activity between two characters of the same sex for you to feel they are inappropriate? Do you object to information books on GLBT topics as well?

I honestly feel, as a librarian and parent, that if a child is gay or lesbian
(something over which a parent has NO control) that the child has the right to find books about that in the library.

"On the subject of glbtq books, there are more than a dozen new novels this year -- a significant increase from previous years.? None of the ones I've read so far has seemed particularly edgy to me, but I know that any librarian who buys one or more of them, or any teacher who uses one of them in a classroom, is still taking a risk in this day and age. "
? Isn't THIS a sad commentary on today's society! LBH I for one am?delighted when our society?leaves the parenting to the parents and not the government, teachers and librarians.? As a parent I consider teaching my values to my c hildren my responsiblity and my priviledge.? Unfortunately it seems I am in the minority.?
