My favorite new book so far is Susan Campbell Bartoletti's HItler Youth
(Scholastic), a great analysis of how Hitler used and manipulated a nation's youth for his own purposes and how some young people resisted, at the risk of their lives. Lively writing, lots of photographs, solid documentation, and attractive design add up to a superb example of nonfiction writing.
