Oh totallysaints.com--yes, I went onto the site and took the Saint-O-meter quiz...I'm happy to report that I am not yet a candidate for sainthood but I'm on the right track, LOL.
Agree, Damian's voice was beautifully done, just the right blend of child and "old soul"...in the movie, the boy who plays Damian is perfectly cast. He's truly adorable.

I'm not Catholic, but I too adored this book. One of my absolute favorites of last year. I thought Damian's voice was beautifully done and just loved the wry humor, the magical realism of the saints, the realistic school and family story, and the never-too-little-or-too-much sadness of the family. I read it aloud to my 4th graders (few of whom are Catholic) and they loved it too.
(We did had fun at www.totalysaints.com even if it wasn't quite as extensive as the one in the book!)
