Karen Sue was a longtime subscriber to ccbcnet and so I am taking the liberty of forwarding this sad child_lit post. Karen Sue was also very active on adbooks and I hope it may be possible for those of us who knew and loved her virtually to memorialize her. There have been a number of lovely posts about her so far on both lists. If nothing else, our memories of her are a form of memorial.

 Dear Childlit members,
 I have sad news. Karen Sue Simonetti died earlier this week. She was a vibrant and active presence on this and other lists. Those of you who know her from other discussiong groups, would you please pass the word on as Karen's mother is unable to access her computer and there are many, many people Karen talked with via groups dedicated to children and young adults and reading.
 Condolence notes can be sent to her mother, Devra Jacobeson. jacobson312 at earthlink.net
 At this time there are no plans for a for a formal memorial service but if I hear otherwise I will let you know.
 Karen died after a long battle with multiple health problems caused by the treatment (radiation) she had in 1985 for Hodgkin's Disease.
