the dillons will be there to receive an honor for the people could fly...at the csk breakfast...and that award is richly deserved...(some grad student should dig out and delineate all the books they have illustrated since they received backtoback caldec otts in 74u or thereabouts...and has it really been approx. thirty(!) years without any other caldecott recognitions...)
and since i am blowing horns: let me break from my usual "negative" stance towards publishers and publishing...and give great "props" to janet schulman of knopf/random for conceiving of the project and funding it with superb production values....
