Thank you ccbc list serve because of you I learned about the Batchelder Award and ended up reading Crow Girl by Bodil Bredsdorff and Daniel Half Human and the Good Nazi by David Chotjwitz--both books really much resonated with me; I loved them and have recommended them to others.
In light of further discussion about FRANCESCA LIA BLOCK books--I found a Weezie Bat-kind of connection with Crow Girl.
The other book I read recently that I learned about from this list was Airborn by Kenneth Oppel--just a fun, fun fast-paced read, sort of an Indiana Jones on a zeppelin.
