My book discussion group met last night, and one of the members brought her daughter with her. The daughter is in 11th grade in high school. She is reading The Life of Pi by Yann Martel. She said the book was so good that she is reading it for the second time. I asked her if she reads books written especially for young adults. She looked at me rather funny, and so I explained what kind of books these were and that they were found in the Young Adult section of Barnes & Noble. She said,
"oh those books. Those are for junior high." She said that she and her friends read adult books.
