what is poetry?

This thread has been wonderful! Thanks especially for the short quotes... I have a notebook full of poems _about_ poetry and find these especially helpful in coming to understand how we experience poetry from other genres.
I am thinking now that I should put these poems up in a special section on my webpage -- my only concern is that I don't have references to the original source of the poem, only the poet. Does anyone see problems with my putting up the poems??
