Dear Derby:
Among my treasures is an autographed copy of Thompson's SILVER PENNIES. I, too, cherish this rich collection. Before her death I had the chance to interview her...a piece which appears in my BOOKS ARE BY PEOPLE which is LONG out of print but you might be able to find a copy in a children's room library.
She also collected MORE SILVER PENNIES.
Your post made me again recall the glories of the past when poetry was always poetry.
Thanks, too, for the references. I look forward to logging on to them.
