Upcoming PEN Panel on Universal Themes in Children's

Susan Kuklin asked me to forward information to you about the upcoming PEN Panel Discussion featuring speakers who will talk about universal themes in Children's Literature on Sunday, April 17, in Manhattan. What a terrific opportunity! Peace, Ginny PEN WORLD VOICES If you are in the area... PEN is about to hold its first annual New York Festival of International Literature. This week-long event will take place in various venues in Manhattan from Saturday, April 16 through Friday, the 22nd. As part of the festivities the Young Adult/Children's Committee is hosting a panel. Crossing Borders: Universal Themes in Children's Literature. Cornelia Funke, Joseph Lemasolai-Lekuton, Pat Mora, Kyoko Mori, and Salman Rushdie are our panelists. Lois Lowry will moderate. It will be held at the National Museum of the American Indian [The Old Custom's House], 1 Bowling Green, Sunday, April 17, from 2 - 4 P.M. We strongly recommend that you arrive early as the seating is limited and there will be a security check at the entrance to the museum.
