Availability of Newbery books

I was delighted to find that we had ordered all these titles and that they were in the system the day of the announcements. However we had that J/YA issue going on, which overlapped into the Printz award/honor books. Doesn't it seem odd to have the same book be an honor book for both the Newbery and the Printz awards? (Lizzie Bright) Also we had felt _Kira Kira_ to be more YA than J which is how we ordered it.
There's always this problem with the Newbery going up to age 14 and our YA section starting with grade 7/age 13.

Are you all finding that your libraries have copies of these books on the shelves and ready for patrons? I live in a MD county just 2 miles from the District of Columbia line. I was amazed to find that my county library has Freedman's book about Marian Anderson and Schmidt's _Lizzie Bright..._ on order...but no copies presently available. The other two Newbery books are in the system. The estimated wait for _Kira Kira_ is 6 days, and a couple copies of ???_Al Capone..._ are available around the county now.
I understand that demand for these books increases once the Newbery books are announced. But I am especially surprised that the Marian Anderson book wasn't even in the system.
How are the rest of you doing at accessing the books via public libraries?
