Are you all finding that your libraries have copies of these books on the shelves and ready for patrons? I live in a MD county just 2 miles from the District of Columbia line. I was amazed to find that my county library has Freedman's book about Marian Anderson and Schmidt's _Lizzie Bright._ on order.but no copies presently available. The other two Newbery books are in the system. The estimated wait for _Kira Kira_ is 6 days, and a couple copies of ---_Al Capone._ are available around the county now.
I understand that demand for these books increases once the Newbery books are announced. But I am especially surprised that the Marian Anderson book wasn't even in the system.
How are the rest of you doing at accessing the books via public libraries?
