Librarians from the Irving Independent School District (Irving, TX) met today and selected the following titles for their "Mock" Newbery Awards:


Newbery Medal - Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy by Gary D. Schmidt
  Honor Awards - The Outcasts of 19 Schuyler Place by E.L. Konigsburg The Voice That Challenged a Nation: Marian Anderson and the Struggle for Equal Rights by Russell Freedman
