This is my first post to this listserve. Last Wednesday I hosted an illustrator visit by E.B. Lewis and just five days later, he has won a Caldecott Honor! Mr. Lewis' presentation was outstanding - he was able to explain the art and craft of children's book illustration to our elementary school children and at the same time, inspired them to follow their own "passion," whatever it may be. His art merits the Caldecott Honor but from a personal standpoint, the man and his message are as deserving.
Please keep your insight discussion of the winners coming! Penny
