Oh, I remember from my B. Dalton Days (now out of business thanks to a B&N moving in across the street from the Mall), that we'd have to be very careful about the endcap displays. We'd get a monthly book from the District Manager that told us what books were to be displayed on which endcap (or window display) in a certain position, if they came in and a different configuration or different titles than mandated, we'd get a written reprimand for the store!
Even the sales books had to be in a certain order on the tables.
What fun.
