Yes, it would be eligible, so long as the illustrations are original. A few years ago, Trina Schart Hyman won a Caldecott Honor for "A Child's Calendar" by John Updike which has been previously been published with illustrations by Nancy Ekholm Burkert. And Simms Taback's "Joseph Had a Little Overcoat" had been issued in an earlier edition with completely different illustrations by Simms Taback. Both were eligible, so it's fair to assume this one would be too.

Unless I am mistaken, the text, "ellington was not a street" was originally published as Mood Indigo in the author's collection...A Daughter's Geography. If that is true, is the book eligible for consideration by the Caldecott Committee? Many thanks...Norma Jean
