i will have to enter here: when emily mccully asked harpercollins to allow her to reillustrate my black is brown is tan it afforded me the opportunity to completely reshape the manuscript to bring it "up" to the stylistic approach i had developed over the 30(!!) years since the o riginal 1973 publication/// in this instance it was the changes in visualizations which were far more significant than text....
