I agree with Monica's thoughts about Science Verse. The poems are witty and ridiculous all rolled into one-- This coming Wednesday, I will be giving a talk to 100+/- parents about an upcoming series of workshops on Finding Science Projects_at_ the Library. In addition to talking about how the library can help parents to help their childrne with science homework, I plan to do an activity from the Exploratorium of folding a box out of one sheet of paper. (Now we have the box, let's think outside of it...) But the reason I bring this up is that I plan to read from Science Verse as well. I can't seem to narrow the list down from the whole book! The Amoeba poem is on my list as well as the ones mentioned by Monica, particularly Jack Be Nimble! I think that this is even more effective than Math Curse which is another favorite of mine. Bina
