Francisco Jim?nez will give a free public lecture, The Immigrant Experience: The Discovery of Self, Purpose, and Place through Writing, on Friday evening, November 19, 7:30 p.m., in the On Wisconsin Room of the Red Gym, 716 Langdon Street on the UW-Madison campus.

Mr. Jim?nez is the author of several acclaimed picture books and novels, including The Circuit: Stories from the Life of a Migrant Child
(Houghton Mifflin, 1999), and Breaking Through (Houghton Mifflin, 2001). This lecture is part of the UW-Madison School of Education's American Education Week activities and is consponsored by the CCBC and the UW-Madison Center for Instructional Materials and Computing.
