Religion or ??

Are we speaking of religion or god? Since there is such confusion in the U.S. today--especially among the "values" people, I do wonder if the books which are cited discuss one &/or the other? For instance,
"Bronze Bow" is about as insulting to Jews as any book I know. I expect that's religion--not god. I recall a small part of my annotation about it when I was a student at the School of Librarianship at U.C. Berkeley (we had a school of LIBRARIANSHIP then), "Tough bananas, Daniel, that'll kill your religion."

So much for that.

And my question: Religion or god[s]?

We live in a time of retelling of old stories. For instance, a retelling of the story of Noah takes over 300 pages ( I think) in a translated retelling, but my version of pentateuch takes only eleven--and they include the "These are the generations" etc., etc.

Another question: do we really need these psychological retellings of Greek myth (which is religion), Asian myth (which is religion), testament myth (which is...)
