Hi My apologies for being day late! But please let me add Joyce Hansen's Women of Hope to History list. This 1998 publication includes handsome done photographs of African American woemn who "made a difference" It includes short biogrpahical sketches of such persoans as The Delany Sisters , one a destist, the other a teacher, right after slavery days, women who both lived both to be over one hundred. Space scientist, Mae C. Jemison who flew on the Endeavor, and civil rights activist, Ida Wels Barnett, publisher, who worked and wrote in the 1890's, much to her peril. I'm glad some others wrote about Bessie Coleman.
