i think it was the welcoming smile/the folding in and into a truth which could not be watered down by mitigation and evenintellectual rationlizations/we shared a kind of aristocracy of excellence/and she would reach out with a note now and then after one
of our books or speeches//that article in the sat review in 1965 was only a few years before we began to publish: before zeely and i am the darker brother /but she did more to open eyes and open institutionalized white visions than many of my outsider
harrangues/ we would talk about how the timing was perfect for us/and she remained that way and still remains// thank you....
