Upcoming events at The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art

Please help us to spread the word about these exciting programs.

I. A Feast for Your Eyes: Bagels and Books with Mordicai Gerstein and Special Guest Phillippe Petit of The Man Who Walked Between the Towers Sunday November 7, 2004 11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.

This program includes a bagel breakfast with Mordicai Gerstin and Phillippe Petit, the tightrope walker featured in Gerstien?s Caldecott Medal winner, The Man Who Walked Between the Towers. Following the breakfast visitors will enjoy a presentation by our
 two features guests, followed by a book signing.

Tickets for a Single Session (includes admission): Adult $12, Adult Members $11 Youth $8, Youth Member $7

Ticket holders also receive a 10% discount at the Museum Shop (20% for members) on the day of the presentations. This program is recommended for adults and for children of kindergarten age and older. Educators who attend will receive 1 PDP per session.

Future presenters in the Bagels and Books series include Pat Cummings and Jane Yolen with illustrators from western Massachusetts; Sandra Boynton; David McPhail; Brian Pinkney; Robert Sabuda, Amy Schwartz and Leonard Marcus; and Paul O. Zelinsky.

II. What to Look for When Choosing a Picture Book Saturday, November 20, 2004 3:00 ? 5:00pm Barbara Elleman, author, creator and editor in chief of Book Links magazine, and distinguished scholar of Children?s Literature, will help demystify the process of book buying by examining the elements of some of her favorite books and their audience appe al.
