Children's Book Guild November 13 Luncheon
The Washington Post-Children's Book Guild will honor Nonfiction Award winner Dorothy Hinshaw Patent at its annual luncheon on November 13. Patent is the author of more than 100 books about nature and science and has been winning major awards for more than 25 years, beginning with her Golden Kite Honor Book in 1977, Evolution Goes On Every Day. Recent titles include Animals on the Trail with Lewis and Clark, Fabulous Fluttering Tropical Butterflies and Colorful, Captivating Coral Reefs. She will be joined at the podium by authors Eileen and Jerry Spinelli and illustrator Mark Teague.
This year's elegant luncheon will be held at the Capital Hilton Hotel, 1001 16th Street, NW., Farragut North Metro on Saturday, November 13 at noon. Book sales and signings will be held before and after lunch. For more information and registration, call 301F9 70 or visit www.childrensbookguild.org.

The seminar features Guild members Catherine Reef, author of young adult nonfiction and biography; Fred Bowen, government attorney by day and sports writer by night, including a weekly sports column for KidsPost; and Jennifer O'Connell, picture book illustrator and author.
