This Month:

First two weeks: Ho do young readers choose books? We'll spend the first half of October on CCBC-Net sharing observations and knowledge of how children choose books. How does a child or teen navigate the overwheleming number of options they may face in a library or classroom? What role do adults play in the process?

Second two weeks: The Books of E.L. Konigsburg. We'll take a look at the highly regarded career of author E.L. Konigsburg in the second half of October on CCBC-Net.


November First two weeks: Women's History in Books for Children and Young Adults. In the first part of November, CCBC-Net will focus on how women's history, and women's roles in history, have been treated in literature for children and teens.

Second two weeks: Religion in Books for Children and Young Adults. The second half of November, the CCBC-Net discussion will turn to books for children and teenagers about religion or featuring relgious themes or settings.


December Favorites of the Year. Each year in December, members of the CCBC-Net community share their favorite books of the publishing year. Get ready to talk about your favorite books of 2004 for children and teenagers
