Teacher

Reading all the comments and realizing how much teachers appreciate positive portrayals of teachers in books for children, I feel very apologetic because next spring will see the publication by Marshall Cavendish of my newest picture book,
"The Wacky Substitute." My fictional teacher, Mr. Wuerst, is a bumbling, near-sighted kindergarten teacher who is missing his glasses. The book is all in fun, but in Mr.Wuerst's defense, let me say that he is unfailingly optimistic, resourceful and unflappable. The kindergartners love him, and I hope my young readers will also, but, alas, I doubt that he'll ever rival any of the teachers so far discussed.
