Megan, you start with one of my all-time favorites. I've read A BOOK OF COUPONS to sixth graders every year since it was published in this country. They love it, but are disappointed that I am not willing to follow up with coupons for no homework. :) One of my granddaughters has been particularly charmed by Rosemary Wells's YOKO. While I think she loved the idea of sushi for lunch, I loved the diversity of the classroom and the teacher's ability to find a way to emphasize student strengths rather than their differences. Hilltop School is a special place and Mrs. Jenkins an exceptional teacher I always look forward to meeting in Wells's picture books.
