So many favorites about the beloved place we call school. I especially like Louise Borden's, Good Luck, Mrs. K.!, The Day Eddie Met the Author and, most recently, The A+ Custodian. Detailing respectively a teacher's plight with cancer; a near missed question during a school wide author visit; and the compassion of those who truly care for our buildings, our students and us; Borden captures the true essence of school life. Paired with Adam Gustavson's warm illustrations, these books show and tell us that it truly does take a proverbial village.

Dear all,
I second Jean Elvehrog's choice of Officer Buckle and Gloria, a perfect picture book. I also like The Mysterious Tadpole, by Steven Kellogg, in which the school librarian helps to solve a mystery, and Daniel Pinkwater's hilarious Author's Day, in which everything that can go wrong during an author visit does go wrong, and then some.
Best wishes, Angelica Carpenter
