Greetings, future colleagues.
I will be graduating this December from San Jose State University's School of Library and Information Science. As part of my requirements for my MLIS, I am writing a paper about the current emphasis in public schools on skill?sed reading techniques (Accelerated Reader, Lexile Levels, and No Child Left Behind) and the potential that a casualty of this focus on skills will be the development by young readers of a pure enjoyment of reading. I would be greatly appreciative if you could take a little time to answer a few questions, with as much or as little information as you see fit. If you would be willing, please send an email to d_louise at some.place with the subject line "send literacy survey", and I will forward it along to you.
THANK YOU!
