CIP

I add my concern that if publishers were to write CIP annotations it would lead CIP to become commercial promotions of the book rather than searchable keywords and subject areas. I would hope that the real need for professional objectivity is not lost because of the "bottom line." I can see decisions made by publishers in a for-profit business being necessarily much different than a librarian's decision might be. I rely on those annotations as do our teachers, students, and parents.
