Although this is NOT the network for this discussion several people have written me personally asking what Arnold's statements were about.

I assume it is the upcoming PEN program extoling "Fresh Thinking...",
"innovative and thoughtful work" and not having anyone of ethnic background on a panel consisting of 5 authors and the editor of THE HORN BOOK as moderator to be held in NYC!

This is a grave omission.

The program also talks about 'thoughtful work across many genres.' Guess what genre is totally neglected...POETRY!

PEN might need some rethinking.
