Nominations for 2005 Golden Archer Award

Teachers and library media specialists in Wisconsin:

     Your students can be part of the nomination process for our state's student-choice literature award. Each school may submit the five titles receiving most nominations by May 15. Titles should have been published in the past five years (2000 04). Be sure to include the number of students nominating each title submitted.

The award which originated in 1974 at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh is now sponsored by the Wisconsin Educational Media Association (WEMA). At its recent conference in Madison, WEMA announced the 2004 Golden Archer winners:

Primary Level: Skeleton Hiccups by Margery Cuyler Intermediate Level: Double Fudge by Judy Blume Middle/Junior High Level: Touching Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelsen

It was noted that Judy Blume won the first award in 1974!
