2 English & 2 German teachers WANTED!
The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) is looking for two Wisconsin middle or high schools with a teacher of German and a teacher of English Language Arts (or world languages or reading or a curriculum director with literary interest) to travel to Germany for 2 weeks in June 2005, for DPI's Hessen - Wisconsin International Teacher Seminar.
(*** NOTE - Your district MUST teach German, or you must be able to work with a German teacher on the project, eg., you are a middle school English teacher, and you apply with the high school teacher of German)
Application is due Wednesday, May 19, 2004. An orientation for the team of 14 individuals selected is the following week, Wednesday, May 26, 2004, for a dinner evening in Madison.
Colleagues from Germany arrive in Wisconsin schools the 2nd and 3rd weeks in October, 2004 (this coming fall) to visit DPI for one week and their partner schools for one week. This year's theme is Exploring Culture through Literature, and there are lots of possibilities for student projects and sister school matching.
