Newbery Award-winning author Richard Peck will speak about his work, life and writing process at the 2004 Children's Author Lecture at Multnomah County Library in Portland, Oregon. Peck is the author of numerous novels, including "A Long Way from Chicago," "A Year Down Yonder," "Fair Weather,"
"The River Between Us" and "The Ghost Belonged to Me." After his talk, Peck will autograph his books, which will also be available for purchase.
The Children's Author Lecture will be 7:00 p.m., April 12th, at the First Congregational Church, 1126 SW Park Ave., Portland, Oregon.
Tickets for the lecture are $5 for students (K) and $10 for adults. Tickets are on sale March 8-April 11 at Central Library, the library administration building, Capitol Hill Library, Gresham Library, Hollywood Library and Midland Library. Tickets are also available at select Portland-area bookstores: A Children's Place, Annie Bloom's Books, and Twenty-Third Avenue Books. Jackson's Books in Salem also has tickets for sale.
