Ashley Bryan is one of the most inspiring speakers we've ever had at the Butler University Children's Literature Conference. He spoke at the sleepy hour of 8:45 a.m., and in five minutes had the audience totally engaged with his rhythmic reading of poems. He is the only speaker in the 14 years we've been doing the conference who received a spontaneous standing ovation. If you ever have a chance to hear him speak, don't miss it--he's an amazing person. Best, Valiska
