at end january jaime and i were at the ohio state lit conference and always and of course there was ashley with the same power and energies and captivating and loving spirit which has inspired us over these many years...countless numbers of children and their older allies... and it is far more than the style and enthusiasm and great and deep love of african american and humane human cultures and histories: this is artistic excellence of the highest.... and from this night in new york i must send this love song with wide awake ashley dreams: i can see him at the kennedy center with that phat medal hanging from a silk ribbon around his neck t e l l i n g langston into the light..an american treasure and gift to all.... o n e l o v e: arnold
